Q10.
Who pays for shipping the sunglasses?
Q1. I've
never organized a fundraiser before.
How do I get started?
A. The easiest way to get started
is to contact us and let us help you with your planning. Be prepared to
indicate how many members will be participating and the dollar amount
that your organization is trying to raise.
Q2. Why
should I fundraise by selling
sunglasses?
A. Everyone needs and wears
sunglasses to protect their eyes from harmful ultraviolet rays. Best of
all, wearers of sunglasses are always losing and/or breaking the
sunglasses they own. By selling quality sunglasses at low prices,
everyone will be interested in purchasing replacement or back-up pairs.
Q3. How
much money can we expect to make?
A. This depends on a few important
factors:
- The number of participants
- The number of pairs sold
- Selling price of the product
As an example, if you have a team of 25 members and each member sells
one dozen pair of Shādz
sunglasses at our lowest price of $20 per pair, your group would earn
$3,000. You would likely earn more depending on the number of premium
styles purchased. Whatever you sell, you earn 50% of the sales price!
Q4.
Are the sunglasses
guaranteed in any way?
A. Yes. Your supporters will feel
more confident in their purchase, helping you raise more money,
knowing Shādz
sunglasses are 100% guaranteed. If any of our sunglasses
are defective, break or fail to meet your customers’
expectations for any reason, they only need to return the warranty card provided with each order and we will be happy to
provide a replacement pair or exchange for free.
Q5.
Do I have to purchases the
sunglasses in advance?
A. No. Each participating member
of your group will be provided a fulll-color sales sheet/order form
that displays the current styles of sunglasses offered. Sellers use the
order sheet to take orders from friends, family, neighbors and
co-workers.
Q6. How
is the money handled during the
fundraiser?
A. Members should collect payment
for each order at the time of sale. Checks should be made payable to
your organization. At the end of the selling period, you will total the
amount of all the orders and remit 50% of the total to pay for all the
products (including shipping). The remaining 50% of the funds is
available to your organization immediately!
Q7. Does
the sales price (and profit) include
sales tax?
A. No. In many states, your
organization is able to apply for a sales-tax exemption for fundraising
activities. If you are not eligible for a sales tax exemption, you will
need to contact state and/or local officials to determine sales tax
requirements. This will be true for any product you decide to sell as
part of your fundraiser.
For additional information, you can consult http://www.fundraisetaxlaw.org/
and view information for your state.
For example, in Georgia, a non-profit organization may apply for a
sales-tax exemption for fundraising for a total of 30 days per year.
Q8. How
long should the fundraising period
last?
A. We recommend 1-2 weeks for the
fundraiser duration. Most states limit the number of days a group can
execute fundraisers and if the duration is exceeded, sales and use tax
may have to be collected.
Q9. How
and when are the sunglasses delivered?
A. When Shādz receives your order
forms, we will kit all your groups products for each member.
The kits will be clearly labeled with each members name and
list of items. Each item is clearly marked indicating the style
corresponding to the order sheet. Products are shipped to a
single location you specify for pick-up by members within 2 weeks of
receiving all of the completed order forms.
Q10.
Who pays for shipping the sunglasses?
A. Shipping charges are paid for
by Shādz. Only sales
tax in your area (if applicable) will need to be paid from the 50% of
sales that your group retains.
